Say Happy Founders day in the KT Forums.

On February 11th of 1961 Omicron Chapter of Kappa Delta Phi National Fraternity was founded at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, then called North Adams State College.

from the 60th anniversary book of Kappa Delta Phi

In the spring of 1960, Tony DiSalvo of Beta Chapter became acquainted with Tony Botto and Tony
Brescia, both of Massachusetts State College at North Adams. Mr. Botto and Mr. Brescia both expressed a willingness to begin a fraternity at North Adams and Mr. DiSalvo felt that Kappa Delta Phi would be willing to help establish a chapter there. During the summer of 1960 both Tony Botto and Tony Brescia spoke with Tony DiSalvo and some early plans were made.
As the first semester of 1960-61 term unfolded, interest was created at the college and others became involved in the beginning of our local chapter at North Adams. Garret Collins was especially helpful in stirring interest and in helping to organize the chapter. Dr. Joll, National Organizer, personally came up and spoke to a group of interested men. His discussion helped us a great deal and by December a local chapter had been created. Mr. Brescia, making several trips to Boston, met with National officers in hopes of an early installation of North Adams as a National Chapter of Kappa Delta Phi. The constitution of North Adams was accepted by the National at the December 1960 meeting.

Operating under this constitution, 23 members were brought into the chapter and a slate of officers was elected. Mr. Robert Barden was selected as faculty advisor. A tentative date for installation was set at the January meeting of the National by Garret Collins, acting as our representative. The North Adams chapter became the 15th chapter (Omicron) of Kappa Delta Phi, February 11, 1961.
