  • Help keep the OTC ALIVE!

    26Oct
    Categories: Independent Kappa News Comments

The OTC is in dire financial straits and we are asking for your help in order to cover its next month’s server bill. This has happened before and we would not have been able to stay open if not for the generosity of our members.

We call upon you to continue that giving spirit!

    Why Help the OTC?

The generous members of this site have saved chapters from financial ruin through their donations, have helped pay for brothers in dire need when their medical coverage failed, awarded 4 kappa brothers and sisters with both awards and a scholarship, performed real life community service, helped out individual brothers and sisters in their own philanthropic endeavors, and reconnected hundreds of Kappas through support and publicity other Kappa’s businesses, projects and news.

The OTC has a proud history of being your one stop shop for all things Kappa. It is the one place for all of Kappa to come together and practice unfettered free speech. We are the largest support net for each other and the loss of the OTC would be a crippling one for all of us.

Donations can be made via PayPal (you don’t have to have a PayPal account to donate, they take all major credit cards). Donors and their amounts will be listed in the forums, unless they ask for it to be an anonymous donation.

You can give in two ways, re-up your membership subscription to the forums - http://forums.orderofthecrow.org/payments.php and/or give an above and beyond at - https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=9194483

The Admin / Mod team is committed to continue the good fight as long as you are.

Thank you for your continued support!

  • Two New Kappa owned and operated businesses in the OTC business directory.

Kappa Eta Sister Polly Tobin Goddard just opened Bum Boosa™.

Bamboo Baby Products is a company creating and producing environmentally friendly baby products made with the planet and babies’ sensitive skin in mind.

Their first product is currently hitting natural food store shelves from Maine to Hawaii - Bum Boosa™ Bamboo Baby Wipes are made with 100% non-woven bamboo fiber (described as having a cashmere-like quality) which is renewable, biodegradable, flushable, and in the right facility, compostable. They are made with an all-natural solution including organic aloe vera, purified water, and essential oils.

Their next product is coming out very soon - Bum Boosa™ Bamboo Diaper Rash Ointment is made with zinc oxide, bamboo powder, and a variety of herbs. It is rich but light and a little goes a long way!

One of the cool things about the company is that they plant trees for each package of wipes sold and offset more than 100% of our carbon emissions by planting trees with Trees for the Future. So far we’ve planted more than 5,000 trees!

Check out their website at www.bumboosa.com and if you are interested in making a purchase, let them know. They are currently selling in cases of 6 packages on Amazon but they will sell individual packages too if anyone is interested. If nothing else, please share the word with friends and family!

Iota Brother Ryan Breault owns and operates Omni Technical Consulting

Omni Technical Consulting works with their clients to develop and support the technology required by their unique organizational needs. They deliver information technology (IT) solutions and 24×7 managed services to businesses throughout Maine. They are pleased to offer discounts to not-for-profit organizations as part of our philanthropic focus.

    http://www.omnitechnicalconsulting.com

Ryan will happily offer discounts to Brothers and Sisters!

    While you are at it,

check out the handmade cards, prints, and clay figures handmade by Kappa Sigma Sister Lauren Gardner at www.razberriesdesigns.etsy.com.  Also, you can read about her on her blog -  www.razberries.com

See the rest of the Kappa owned and operated buiness in the OTC business directory.

  • Added a facebook fan box to the left side.

    28Jul
    Categories: Independent Kappa News Comments

If  you hadn’t noticed, we just added a facebook fan box to the left hand side of the front page. It displays links to our facebook fans and to the recently posted links on our facebook fan page that lead back to the forums. A lot gets posted on the forums, 99.99 percent never make the front page, but it is all content that should not be missed and invaluable to us all from good advice and tips, news, and other goodies like Brothers giving away tickets to concerts and sporting events.

Hope this makes important content a little easier for you all.

  • What forum has over 1 million posts?

    12May
    Categories: Independent Kappa News Comments

Ours does.  Scott Cranston (Nu) noticed something that a lot of us did not, the OTC cracked 1,000,000 posts and we didn’t even notice it.  Threads: 67,203, Posts: 1,003,757, Members: 1,689

Normally we don’t make a big deal about how many posts, threads, etc we have over at the OTC, but 1 million seems to be a major milestone and if MikeyD’s can put on their signs “over 1 million served” ….well then who is to argue with a clown flipping burgers?

log on it and say :hay: http://forums.orderofthecrow.org/showthread.php?t=75617 on the 1 million milestone thread and lets get working on 1 billion.

    MTSND, the OTC admin team.
